Revelation 12:7–9

War in Heaven

Michael and his angels fight the dragon. The dragon and his angels fight back, but they do not prevail.

They lose their place in heaven. The great dragon is thrown down to Earth, and his angels are thrown down with him.

John identifies the dragon as the ancient serpent—the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world.

These verses describe battle, defeat, and expulsion to Earth—not the abyss.

The armor, wings, sword, and arrangement of the battle are artistic details. The passage does not specify a particular kick or sword strike.

We follow the order of John's vision. Christians differ on how these scenes relate to historical chronology.
